Dukes are usually in season for about a month, depending on weather conditions. Liberty berries generally ripen in early August and are in season for a shorter time due to their sensitivity to high temperatures.
In additional to u-pick, our berries go to commercial markets: therefore, we adhere to strict government regulations for growing, contamination prevention and processing procedures.
These regulations require us to restrict animals from our fields during picking season; so we ask our customers please not to bring their pets to the farm.
You may notice, when you come to the blueberry field that there is also a small grass field; this field is harvested in late summer for grass seed.
Before blueberries occupied this property there have been numerous and different crops; you may have seen over the years fields of strawberrries, cucumbers, wheat, clover, crimson and clover and blackcaps, and apples.
WE HAVE JUST EXPANDED OUR U-PICK TO OFFER A TOTAL OF 14 ACRES
